Who we are
Established in 2003 by Eric Nield, and originally a three-person team, we’ve evolved into a critical supplier of electronics solutions for global business, operating from a modern facility in Manchester. In that time, we’ve developed a reputation as a collaborative, flexible business that goes above and beyond to deliver exceptional quality and service for our customers – with no limitations on what we can do or who we can help.
Our impact
We’re very conscious of the need to be as sustainable as possible in everything we do and we’re constantly looking at ways to make our impact on the world a more positive one. We’re also committed to supporting our team, their families, and our local community. Raising money for local defibrillators and a breast cancer charity are among the community and charitable initiatives we’ve been delighted to support. Read more about how we’re reducing our impact and supporting our communities on our News pages.

Andy NieldOperations Director
I’ve spent my career in the electronics industry, working in supply chain roles for multi-national organisations. I’m responsible for ensuring materials are available when required and for overall production planning.
Electrica is an inspiring business, and I enjoy solving new challenges every day.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and playing football and golf.
Mike NieldMaterials Director
I joined Electrica in 2011 as a senior development engineer supporting Electrica with more advanced projects. I became Technical Director in 2019.
My role is exciting, challenging, and varied. Still hands-on, I manage projects and the development department, provide the technical interface with sales, and manage the IT infrastructure. It’s rewarding to see customers’ ideas evolve into final products on our assembly lines.
Martin ChattertonTechnical Director
I joined Electrica in 2015 to work in mechanical design for a specific project. I have progressed to become the Production Manager and Electrica’s in-house certified IPC trainer.
I enjoy working with the team here and I love the fact that every day is different.
